Wishek Public School is excited to welcome two new staff members to our team! Please join us in welcoming Phil Weldele and Kari Goldade.

Meet Phil Weldele

Phil joins WPS as our new Athletic Director and Transportation Coordinator. He brings many years of experience in education, having taught and coached in Minnesota, Iowa, Colorado, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and North Dakota.

Phil is licensed in social studies and has also taught English, math, art, physical education, and lifetime activities. His career includes supporting students in a variety of educational settings.

His extensive coaching background includes women’s basketball at St. Cloud State University and Peru State College, along with basketball, volleyball, six- and eight-man football, track, and golf.

In addition to overseeing our athletic and transportation programs, Phil will support students enrolled in online classes and work with students in small-group settings.

Phil’s office is located on the high school end of the building, between the high school office and the library.

Meet Kari Goldade

Kari joins WPS as our new Assistant Secretary. During Annabelle’s maternity leave, Kari will serve as our primary front-office contact. When parents and families call the school, Kari will be the friendly voice on the other end of the phone. She is very tech-savvy and is already proving to be a wonderful addition to the WPS staff.

Kari and her family moved to Wishek from South Dakota at the beginning of July. Her husband, Dustin, owns and operates a construction business, and their four children will attend Wishek Public School in grades 2 through 7.

Although Kari has spent the past 15 years in South Dakota, she was born and raised in the Bismarck and Sterling area and is happy to be back in North Dakota.

Outside of work, Kari enjoys gardening, cooking, canning fresh produce, and photography. Her family also enjoys camping, spending time outdoors, and participating in 4-H.

Visitor Check-In

Kari’s office is located immediately inside the West Main Entrance. All parents and visitors entering through the West Main Entrance are asked to stop at Kari’s office and check in before proceeding into the school.

We are excited to have Phil and Kari at Wishek Public School and look forward to the experience, energy, and talents they will bring to our students, staff, and community. Please help us give them a warm Wishek welcome!
