We will have 80's dress-up day Thursday, December 14th to honor the 80th day of school (80th day is technically Friday, but we will do our competition on Thursday). Top 3 classes in grades k-6 and 7-12 will win a pizza party. We are doing this to promote school spirit and participation for all students.

The following is a section of the newsletter from Mrs. Wolff:
I’d also like to encourage anyone who is able to bring a donation for the Veterans Home in Lisbon. We will have a collection box at the south entrance to the school on the night of the concert (Dec. 5) until Dec. 14th. The box will be taken over on Dec. 14th. Item ideas could be: puzzles (new) Patriotic Quilts, playing cards, batteries (AA and AAA), large print books, tape measures, men’s black or grey sweatpants with pockets (new size M, L, KL, 2XL and 3XL), Men’s slippers with good grip, easy to put on, bird seed. If you are able to help, it is much appreciated. There is also a collection box at Heritage Insurance.

Just a reminder that Wishek Public School will start picking up the cost for in town bus service starting December 1st through March 28th.

Here is some information regarding Mini-Dancers. Please see the attached documents for information about dates, cost, location, and contact information. These documents will also be in the newsletter and sent home as a paper copy.

I found this online a couple weeks ago and thought it would be some good info to share with everyone for the upcoming varsity basketball seasons.

The 2024 schedule for volleyball is attached. Next fall will be the final season of the two-class system for North Dakota. In 2025 volleyball will be going to a three-class system (B, A, AA). Please note that these schedules are subject to some change depending on the number of participants (JV an C squad).

Here is the schedule for the 2024 football season. The state will go back to 8 regions instead of 4. The first three games on our schedule are non-region games. The top 3 teams in the region will go to playoffs, with the region champ getting a first round bye. Region 8 teams include: South Border, Napoleon G-S, Linton HMB, Kidder County, Central McCLean, and New Salem.

These girls worked hard as a team throughout the season finishing third in the district and qualifying for the region tournament again this year. If you have spent any time around these ladies, you know they are a great group of people to be around. Not only do they accel on the court but also in the classroom and the community. Thank you, ladies, for your time, dedication, and commitment to your program playing in the offseason, lifting, and going to camps. Another congratulations goes out to Coach Doane on finishing up his first year as the head coach of the lady Mustangs. Thank you, Coach, for all of the time you put into this program.

The Mustang football team took home the state runner-up trophy on November 10. This group broke many records and had a lot of firsts in program history. Thank you to the players and coaches for all the memories this fall. Congrats to Coach Mellmer on steering the ship for such a historic season in only his second-year coaching.

These young Mustangs finished up their season at the beginning of November. They competed in 10 games and a tournament this fall. There was always a lot of excitement in them when I walked through the gym. They were never short of energy or smiles! A big thank you to Luke Miller for stepping up and coaching this team. Coach Miller said. “I was very honored to coach such a great group of young men. The improvements they made from day one to the last game of the season was outstanding.”

There was a schedule change at the end of last week. Tomorrow our JH GBB team will be playing at HOME (Wishek) vs Napoleon at 4:30. There will only be 6 quarters of basketball played instead of two games. Thank you.

QUICK REMINDER FOR PK-6 PARENTS: Please make sure that your child is still bringing an appropriate coat to school for recess. Thank you!

Boys basketball players meeting in the Wishek gym on Tuesday, November 21st at 7:00pm. This is for grades 8-12. Open gym to follow.

Congratulations to Daniel Schumacher and Connor Kosiak on being selected to the first team All State roster. Joining the second team All State roster is Levi Buchholz, Cole Stock, and Berkley Frantz. Coach Evan Mellmer took home the 9-man coach of the year award.
