Bus route update: Reminder city route busing is run through South Central Transit. Contact # is 701-731-0072. Bus drivers for out of town routes remain unchanged for the year: Brent Vetter -southwest route. Keith Ulmer-west route. Jeremy Vliem-Southeast route. Jeff Raile-northeast route. If you are new to the district, or have your first child riding the bus, reach out to Superintendent Shawn Kuntz to get your bus drivers contact information so we can get you added to our bus route.

The first day of Pre-School is August 19th! The doors will open at 8 am with breakfast available.

These passes will be good for all home games (Wishek and Ashley). Please understand that the passes will NOT work for postseason or tournament play.
Regular season prices for home games are as follows:
HS-$8 Adult, $5 Student
JH/Elem-$3 Adult, $2 Student


Wishek Public School has a position of assistant secretary open starting the 2024-2025 school year.
Assistant Secretary
• Monitor doors and phone
• Assist in dispensing medication
• In charge of putting together newsletter and printing out the newsletter
• Assist in entering in breakfast, milk break, and lunch transactions into Powerschool (EL/HS)
• In charge of updating current inventory for WPS
• Will assist in updating employee and student files under directive of administration
• Give administrative support to teachers and school officials
• Responsible for keeping staff room and art room supplies stocked
• May be asked to assist cooks with fresh fruits and vegetables program
• Assist AD with clerical responsibilities related to extracurricular activities
• Assist administration with clerical responsibilities
• Assist head secretary with technology issues under the direction of Technology Coordinator
• Other duties as assigned and agreed upon
• Study Hall supervision
• Examples of Athletic Director clerical duties:
o Track academic and athletic awards
o Create programs for home sporting events
o Add announcements to Facebook and/or the school webpage
o Assist on helping add things to the school calendar
o Tracking physicals
o Athletic inventories
o Activity passes (recording and receipting).
Starting salary $17.50 + $.25/hr increase per year with comparable experience. Fringe Benefits: Benefits shall be: Sick Leave: 10 days annually, cumulative to 30 days. Personal Leave: 4 days annually, cumulative to 5 days. Three paid holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and Good Friday. A Board matching Retirement Plan began in the 1999-2000 school term. The Board will match, the employee’s contribution, up to 3% of your yearly salary. The district will pay a single health insurance benefit if you are on the school’s health insurance plan. All benefits will be prorated to the hours and days worked per year.

Any student (grades 4-12) who plans on participating in athletics for the 2024-2025 school year will need a physical on file. Please drop them off at Mr. Brandner's office when you have them completed.

Due to a recent resignation, we will have to redo the 7-12 schedule. There will be NO registration this week. We will keep everyone posted on the new registration dates when they are available. Thank you for your patience.

The Wishek Public School Board will be holding a Policy Meeting at 7:00 PM and a Regular School Board meeting at 7:30 on July 10th, 2024 in the ITV room located on the Elementary side of the Wishek Public School.

Summer reminder: Sport physicals will be available at the Wishek Clinic on July 8th and July 15th.

The JH/JV football game schedules are now on the rSchool calendar. A couple notes:
*JV and Varsity will participate in a scrimmage on August 17 in Bismarck at the Community Bowl.
*We are still waiting on confirmation for a JH/JV game in early October. When/If it is added, we will keep everyone updated.
*Please keep in mind that these schedules can change when the season begins (number of participants, injuries, players available for the week, etc.). As usual, the updates will be posted on FB and the website.
*PLEASE START SCHEDULING YOUR PHYSICALS.

Official School Board Election Results
Trina Schilling was declared an elected school board member with 188 votes. Danielle Goebel was declared an elected school board member with 185 votes.

For those interested in firewood, we have a gigantic pile of cut wood in the school parking lot. Feel free to come take what you need.

Notice of Annual School Election
Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, the 11th day of June 2024, an annual election will be held for the purpose of electing two members to the Board of Wishek Public School District 19 and the decision of publishing the proceedings of the school board. The election will be held at the Wishek National Guard Armory. Polls will open at 11:00 a.m. and will close at 7:00 p.m. on that day.

FYI-Varsity football and volleyball (JH, C, JV, V) game schedules are now on the rSchool calendar. I am waiting for confirmation on a couple teams for JH/JV football and will have the fall practice schedules done soon. Varsity football will begin practice Aug. 8 and varsity volleyball will begin practice Aug. 19.
