Activities updates:
There will be NO practice today for girls golf. Ladies-Your golf clubs will be in the south entrance. You can pick them up tomorrow morning before you leave.
JH/JV football practice will be moved to Wishek today.
Elementary football will be in the armory. Have your son bring athletic shoes. Willis will post about this on the Mini Mustang football page.
Girls golf pictures will now be August 19 at 4pm in Wishek.
Elementary football photos will be rescheduled to Monday, August 26 in Wishek.
Elementary Football Update: Football practice will begin on Monday, August 12 at 4:00 in Ashley. The bus will leave Wishek at 3:30 from the south parking lot. They will have a short practice followed by equipment handout. I would recommend sending a water bottle and an athletic/duffle bag. If you have any questions, please call Chuck Brandner (701)527-7718. WISHEK FAMILIES ONLY-YOUR CHILD WILL NEED A PHYSICAL ON FILE IN ORDER TO PRACTICE!
All registration has been finished! If you would like a copy of your schedule you may come Thursday, the 8th, and Friday, the 9th. Also the 7th and 9th graders will get there locker numbers and combinations these days.
Due to a large amount of 9th graders SENIORS your locker numbers/combinations have changed so if you would like to come in to sort that out you are more than welcomed, but it is NOT mandatory.
JH Football Players/Parents: The JH football team is scheduled to start practice Friday, August 9. If any players are interested in starting Thursday, August 8 they are welcome to join the 9-12 practice. There is no JH practice schedule on the rSchool calendar as they always practice in the same location as the varsity.
It has been finalized that Homecoming Week will be September 23-September 27.

Mrs. Bettenhausen will be at school Friday, August 2nd, to help grades 10-12 register for online classes.
REGISTRATION DATES: Grades 7, 8, and 9 will register on Thursday, August 1 from 10a-NOON. Grades 10, 11, and 12 will register on Friday, August 2 from 9a-NOON. Registration will take place in the high school office. If you are unable to make these dates, please call the school by Friday, August 2 at 2pm to register over the phone.

Bus route update: Reminder city route busing is run through South Central Transit. Contact # is 701-731-0072. Bus drivers for out of town routes remain unchanged for the year: Brent Vetter -southwest route. Keith Ulmer-west route. Jeremy Vliem-Southeast route. Jeff Raile-northeast route. If you are new to the district, or have your first child riding the bus, reach out to Superintendent Shawn Kuntz to get your bus drivers contact information so we can get you added to our bus route.
The first day of Pre-School is August 19th! The doors will open at 8 am with breakfast available.
These passes will be good for all home games (Wishek and Ashley). Please understand that the passes will NOT work for postseason or tournament play.

HS-$8 Adult, $5 Student

Wishek Public School has a position of assistant secretary open starting the 2024-2025 school year.
Assistant Secretary
• Monitor doors and phone
• Assist in dispensing medication
• In charge of putting together newsletter and printing out the newsletter
• Assist in entering in breakfast, milk break, and lunch transactions into Powerschool (EL/HS)
• In charge of updating current inventory for WPS
• Will assist in updating employee and student files under directive of administration
• Give administrative support to teachers and school officials
• Responsible for keeping staff room and art room supplies stocked
• May be asked to assist cooks with fresh fruits and vegetables program
• Assist AD with clerical responsibilities related to extracurricular activities
• Assist administration with clerical responsibilities
• Assist head secretary with technology issues under the direction of Technology Coordinator
• Other duties as assigned and agreed upon
• Study Hall supervision
• Examples of Athletic Director clerical duties:
o Track academic and athletic awards
o Create programs for home sporting events
o Add announcements to Facebook and/or the school webpage
o Assist on helping add things to the school calendar
o Tracking physicals
o Athletic inventories
o Activity passes (recording and receipting).
Starting salary $17.50 + $.25/hr increase per year with comparable experience. Fringe Benefits: Benefits shall be: Sick Leave: 10 days annually, cumulative to 30 days. Personal Leave: 4 days annually, cumulative to 5 days. Three paid holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and Good Friday. A Board matching Retirement Plan began in the 1999-2000 school term. The Board will match, the employee’s contribution, up to 3% of your yearly salary. The district will pay a single health insurance benefit if you are on the school’s health insurance plan. All benefits will be prorated to the hours and days worked per year.

Any student (grades 4-12) who plans on participating in athletics for the 2024-2025 school year will need a physical on file. Please drop them off at Mr. Brandner's office when you have them completed.
