The playoff game for Saturday, October 21 has been set for a 1:30CST start time vs MLS (Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood) at Ashley.

The JV football team played their last game two weeks ago. These guys took part in a scrimmage and 7 regular season games this fall. It was easy to see the strides this team took from the beginning of the year to the end. This group is still going strong at practice giving our varsity scout team reps. These guys have had the opportunity to compete on Monday nights and some Friday nights. Coach David Jochim now has three years of experience on his resume and calls the offense, while long time coach Josh Wiest works with the defense. These two do a great job of getting these young men prepped and ready for the next level. Job well done to all of you!

Monday, October 16 in Ashley will be senior night for these girls! This will mark their last home game. These ladies have made back-to-back region tournaments and are currently sitting 3rd in the district with a 13-11-3 record. This group has logged a lot of hours in the weight room and on the court. Thank you for the dedication to your school and the volleyball program. You have been a great group of ladies in the school and on the court. Best of luck on the remained of your season! Monday night action in Ashley vs Herreid-Selby Area will have the 7th grade starting at 3:30, 8th grade at 4:15, C squad at 5:00, JV 6:00, and varsity action starting at roughly 7:30.

Senior night tonight in Ashley starting at 7:00 vs Kidder County. Thank you to this group of seniors for your dedication and leadership! This is truly an unselfish group of guys attacking a common goal as a team.

GRADES PK-6 PARENTS-With temperatures dropping, please make sure you are sending weather appropriate clothing for recess.

Monday night marked the last game for our JH football team. This team made it the entire year with only 9 players. This group not only stayed competitive throughout the season, but also picked up some wins along the way.....even dealing with some injuries! They are hardworking and a fun group to watch. Also, thank you to Coach Mike VanGorkom for not just coaching the JH team, but all that you do for South Border athletics. There are so many things that go into running a program, and you are one of those guys who is always willing to help with any task, big or small. Congrats to Coach Mike and all of the players on their season.

SENIOR FOOTBALL PARENTS-At halftime of the football game on Friday vs Kidder County there will be a short recognition for all of the seniors and their parents. Congratulations to the South Border football team on winning the Region 4 title Friday night. This is the first region football title won in coop history. The Mustangs will be back in action on Friday night against Kidder County in Ashley starting at 7pm.

Yesterday finished off the season for our elementary (5th/6th grade) girls basketball team. These girls played in 8 games (most nights having both a 5th and 6 grade game separately) and a tournament in Napoleon to end the season. As you can see, numbers are looking really solid for this group of kids. Thank you to Mr. Bittner and Ms. Mogen for coaching these girls this fall. The two of you do an excellent job of making sure the kids are having fun while learning the fundamentals of the game. Your time and dedication do not go unrecognized.

The following website is another favorite of mine for checking scores: https://www.northdakotaprepscoreboards.com/

If you are looking for an app that has scores from around the state, give this a try. This app contains scores for volleyball, football, and basketball (boys and girls).

The football game tonight in New Salem will be streamed on the KX website: https://www.kxnet.com/

Congratulations to our girls golf team! As a team they finished 13th at the State Tournament earlier this week. Members of the team include Hailey Kaseman, Brylee Fast, Megan Monson, Macy Monson, Angel Neuman, and Kiarra Opsahl. Hailey finished tied for 14th place, while Brylee placed 21st. Talking with Coach St. Aubin, he stated how much these girls improved from the start of the year until the end of the year. In 20 years of coaching, he said this team showed more improvement than any team he has been a part of. For most of these girls it was their first year golfing at the varsity level. Coach St. Aubin was also awarded the Class B Coach of the Year Award. For those of you that know him, you know he does much more than just teach kids the game of golf. He is a true mentor and an extremely humble individual. He has a passion for the game of golf and getting kids to believe in themselves and their team. Coach St. Aubin's coaching staff also includes long-time assistant Dean Christianson (roughly 15 years) and Alli Harriman (2 years). Congratulations to all of you on a successful season!
