This weather system has been challenging to say the least. Hindsight is always 20/20. Maybe we could/should have had school the past few days. I correspond with area superintendents to gather road conditions from Steele to Ashley. When considering school closures, I take in account bussing as well as having enough staff to be able to effectively have school. This storm has brought a trifecta of difficulty-rain to ice followed by a lot of snow. If the wind picks up and temperatures also decrease we are in store for conditions that I do not recall seeing this early. I plan on making a decision early tomorrow morning to see what tonight brings. If you live out of town I would welcome comments on how the road conditions are out your way. Thank you. Supt. Kuntz

Girls basketball game for today has been rescheduled to January 20th.
Due to the road conditions and uncertainty of snow impacts, we will err on the side of caution and cancel school today.
Wishek Public School will be starting two hour late tomorrow. Classes will start at 10:30. Doors will open at 10:15. No breakfast. Buses will run if roads are drivable. Any changes will be announced tomorrow morning.

We are looking at adjusting events due to the pending storm. Junior high girls game will be moved up to 4:00 pm. JV boys basketball game will also start at 4:00 pm with varsity game to follow. 8th grade boys will ride with varsity. 7th grade boys will have open gym at Wishek.

The Books are Fun books have arrived and have been delivered into the hands of our students. Thank you to our amazing community for your support.
Wednesday Dec. 7th at 1:00 pm, Wishek Elementary will be distributing books to the Pre-k through 6th grade that were acquired through our schools fundraiser Books are Fun. We are inviting the community members to come be a part of the celebration, and to continue to promotote the love of reading to our students. Book distributuion will take place in the Elementary meeting room, across from third grade. Cookies and juice will be served as a thank you for supporting our fundraiser.
