It’s always a great day when it’s Buddy Day! Students had a blast enjoying giant popsicles, creating special projects for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, and making colorful May Day baskets. And when there was a bit of a wait? They danced it out! A huge thank you to all the students and staff for making this such a fun and memorable day!
HANSEL AND GRETEL Performance
Extra! Extra! Big news from the Wildwood! The mystery is solved! Hansel and Gretel return safely from their perilous adventure deep in the woods and bring with them the age-old secret of the Wildwood Witch! Don’t miss a moment as the truth is revealed. It’s amazing. It’s shocking. And, it’s very very funny!
The local cast features local K-6 students as Hansel and as Gretel, their Granny, the Wildwood Witch, her loyal Cooks, the modern-day campers – somehow lost in time in the woods. The Rascals are played by older students while the wonderfully mythical Wallybirds are played by younger students. Older students have also served as assistant directors throughout the week.
HANSEL AND GRETEL will be presented at 7:00 PM on May 2, 2025, at the Wishek School Gymnasium. It is a free will donation to attend at the door. Popcorn, candy and water will be available for concessions during intermission of the show.
The Missoula Children's Theatre residency in Wishek s presented locally by the Wishek Public School and Wishek Education Association with support from the Tri- County Fair Wishek Lions Club, and KEM Community Roundup Grant. For more information, call the Wishek Public School at 701.452.2995.

Staff Spotlight featuring Melissa Dalke
Dalke is an exceptionally dedicated and resourceful educator whose commitment to excellence shines through in everything she does. With a remarkable breadth of knowledge and many talents, she consistently goes above and beyond her responsibilities to support both students and colleagues. Her longevity at the school is a testament to her passion and unwavering dedication. Dalke makes the most of every resource available to enhance learning experiences, and her willingness to step in wherever needed speaks volumes about her character and work ethic. She is, without a doubt, an invaluable asset to our school.

Buddy Day UPDATE:
We have decided to postpone the color run to this fall; however, the students and their buddies will still be doing an activity Wednesday, April 23.

Wishek Public School is proud to recognize two of our seniors, Treyton Ruenz and Kiarra Opsahl, for receiving their North Dakota State FFA degree. This is the highest honor that the state of North Dakota can award FFA members and is reserved for members that have shown incredible dedication and service to the FFA. Of the 8,000 FFA members across the state, only 145 were selected this year to receive this honor. In other words, only about 2% of members are able to achieve this milestone. Kiarra currently serves as the chapter president and Treyton currently serves as our chapter reporter. Congratulations Kiarra and Treyton! We are proud of you for representing us at the highest level!

Dear Wishek Community Members,
We are excited to invite you to join the Wishek School Band as we come together to celebrate our graduating class! Whether you’re a former band member, a local musician, or simply someone who loves to play, we would love to have you perform with us for this special occasion.
Event Details:
🎶 Rehearsals: Wednesdays April 16, 23, 30 and May 7, 14 at 6:30 in the school band room
🎓 Graduation Ceremony: Sunday May 18th 2:00pm at the school gymnasium
This is a wonderful opportunity to support our students, share your musical talents, and be part of a memorable event. We will be playing two songs, Pomp and Circumstance, as the graduates enter, and a piece called Spring for the exit processional. All instruments and experience levels are welcome! We will also perform several patriotic songs at the Wishek American Legion Memorial Day Service at the Legion on May 26th.
